It's time for spring cleaning!

Most traditional approaches to health and popular traditions also confirm that it is good to cleanse the body, particularly at the time of the most significant seasonal changes, namely in the spring and the fall.

The liver is the body's most active organ and single-handedly manages about five hundred important physiological functions. It is for this reason that we must come to the aid of the liver first and foremost. Somewhat like the oil change we perform on our cars so that it prevents the motor from clogging up, the liver deserves our attention and constant consideration, which unfortunatley we do not provide until it breaks down.

Far from suggesting a drastic type of cleanse or a draconian diet, what we simply advocate is a mild, but deep cleansing with cholagogue herbs such as artichoke, boldo, dandelion, black radish root in the form of liquid extract on an empty stomach in the morning against constipation, occasional, mild but recurring biliary retention. A cleanse is strongly recommended in the case of more prolonged and persistant problems, such as chronic indigestion, intolerance to animal fat and protein, chronic fatigue, melancholy, nausea and persistant skin problems. There is no danger in taking herbal formulations having a progressive cleansing effect on the liver for up to a month, in order to remove all matter, which often saturates the liver due to our poor eating habits amongst others.

At times it is also advisable to put to work other emunctory filters such as the colon, the lymph and the kidneys and to use other cleansers, such as fibre and laxative mucilage, diuretic herbs in order to remove toxins by way of hydrosolubles. This can be accomplished with the practical and pleasant tasting herbal tea Digest-T, which can be taken several times a day, preferably between meals.

In naturopathy, blood poisoning or cellular poisoning is one of the root causes of sickness. To help you besides seasonal cures, drink good herbal teas regularly, eat healthy food and don’t needlessly upset yourself.
