Originally grown in Mexico, squash found its way to the Styria region of southeastern Austria, where it has been cultivated for over 200 years. The soft climate gave rise to the Styrian pumpkin, whose seeds have lost their wooden shell, giving them a wonderful flavor and great nutritional benefits.
Styria pumpkin seeds are grown in their home region ( the Danube’s alluvial plains ) which make them even more interesting, nutrition-wise. Styrian pumpkin seeds make the perfect snack, and can be used to refine salads, soups and many other dishes.
