GLUTEN FREE OATS
Contrary to popular belief, oats are gluten-free. This belief stems from the high risk of cross-contamination since oats are often grown, transported or processed in the same environments as other cereals containing gluten.
Our organic oats comes from the Great Canadian Prairies and is grown, transported and processed separately from grains containing gluten. This results in a product tested (ELISA R-5) containing less than 10 ppm of gluten. The Canadian standard for gluten-free oats is 20 ppm. It is safe for most adults with celiac disease*.
*A stabilization phase should be observed before beginning a gluten-free diet including gluten-free oats. Abstinence from gluten-free oats is recommended in celiac individuals with a diagnosis of villous atrophy.
