Featured recipe: homemade chocolate & hazelnut spread
Although we love the taste of Nutella, we are much less fond of its ingredients (refined sugar, palm oil…) and its low nutritional content. We would like to offer you a much healthier, but just as delicious, alternative: Avril Granby’s nutritional counsellor Johanne Taylor’s chocolate and hazelnut spread. You will love it, guaranteed!
- 1 cup of hazelnut butter
- 20 pitted dates
- Soak the dates in water for the night (approx. 8 hours).
- Drain the dates and keep the soaking water.
- Blend the dates with 3/4 cups of the soaking water. Gradually add the hazelnut butter and the carob powder. Add water until desired consistency is reached and your homemade Nutella is ready!
(Can be refrigerated for up to a few days.)
