Fromagerie L’Ancêtre’s latest cheeses
For over 25 years, Fromagerie L’Ancêtre has been making cheese and butter made from 100% pure organic milk. Read more about this company and find out about their latest product: delicious spreadable goat’s milk cream cheese.
The story of Fromagerie L’Ancêtre started in 1992, when twenty dairy producers from the Centre-du-Québec region decided to switch to organic farming practices. A few years later, ten of them to united and founded the Fromagerie L’Ancêtre. Today, the company offers more than thirty cheeses and butters, all made from 100% pure organic milk. Interesting fact: the cows of the Fromagerie L’Ancêtre are raised without growth hormones or antibiotics. The pastures in which they graze and the grains they are fed are free of pesticides, chemical fertilizers and GMOs.
Goat Cheese: New on the market, this organic soft cheese has a fresh, typical goat cheese taste. Its paste is creamy and spreadable, making it a perfect product to put on cheese platters or add to your recipes.
Light Medium Cheddar Cheese: This lactose free organic cheese is made from unpasteurized Quebec cow’s milk. Aged for a minimum of 6 months, it has 40% less fat than the regular version. Its semi-soft and elastic texture reveals a slightly salty flavour as well as a touch of hazelnut and butter. It pairs well with most dishes and desserts. Last November, this product won the Sélection Caseus contest in the “Low-fat cheeses” category. This contests aims to showcase the expertise of cheese producers in Quebec.
