Hubert Cormier: my 10 favorite Avril products
Every time I go to Avril, I cannot help but browse the aisles looking for new products! I spend a lot of (or too much!) time perusing the nutritional facts tables from foods that catch my attention. Here are the 10 products that I bought during my last visit and that I cannot wait to test in my kitchen soon!
With 3g of protein and 3g of fiber per serving, these crackers are perfect! They will satiate you and pair wonderfully with hummus or your favourite cheeses. It’s a must try!
Gluten-free crackers made in Quebec, with a delicious flavour and good nutritional values (2 g of fiber, 0 mg sodium per 20 g of crackers). Quite interesting!
For salt lovers, these roasted chickpeas – grown in Canada! – can replace your favourite potato chips with 5g of fiber and 5g of protein for a small 30g serving.
Hard to believe, but these contain 3 times more protein than regular spaghetti! Not to mention the style that the black color will give to your pasta dish … Delectable!
To be honest I have not just discovered this product. It’s one of my favourite and has been in my kitchen for a while already! Serve it to your guests – especially during the sugar season! – with shrimp, pork or even tofu.
Organic chickpea miso – Miso tradition
Have you ever added miso paste to season your Asian-inspired soups? If not, use sparingly because it is a very concentrated product! By the way, chickpeas are at the very top of the list of ingredients. I love it! (Available in-store only)
Whether to add protein to smoothies, homemade breakfast muffins and patties, or to simply make powdered soy beverage, this product is now a kitchen favourite!
Using chickpea flour instead of regular flour in your recipes is like adding a serving of chicken in your cake or a piece of steak in your cookies; it enriches them with proteins! As a bonus, you will not notice any difference in taste!
Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies – Les produits Starca
You gotta love a cookie that provides as much fiber as a slice of whole grain bread. I like to have it as a snack with a fruit or to finish my meal on a sweet note! (Available in-store only)
High Achiever Cold Pressed Juice – LOOP
I know, some juices have a bad rep. However, with the arrival of summer, I wanted to find a healthy alternative to fake fruit juice for your homemade cocktails. In addition to being a local company, LOOP uses ugly fruits and vegetables to make their beverages. All the reasons are good to encourage them! (Available in-store only)
I love my Avril essentials. They give me several new recipe ideas! Do you also have any favourite products to tell me about?
