VG Gourmet products: for the perfect vegan BBQ!

A local company

VG Gourmet was founded in Montreal in 2015 by Chantal Bekhor and Emmanuel Castiel, partners in business and in life. It was Chantal’s passion and talent for vegan cooking that motivated the couple to quit their respective jobs in education and law to launch their range of vegan burger patties in grocery stores. Avril Supermarché Santé was one of the first retailers to carry VG Gourmet products. This encouraged Chantal and Emmanuel to keep going and to expand their product line. Within a few years, the company went from three to nine products. It now offers four varieties of burger patties (Lentils and Walnut, Mexican 3-bean, Quinoa and chickpea, Sweet potato and black bean), three marinated organic tofu flavours (Ginger Sesame, Greek Gyro, Thai Coconut), beetballs as well as taco and chili crumble.

Quality and taste above all else

En plus d’être végétaliens, les produits VG Gourmet sont sans gluten et sans agent de conservation (puisqu’ils sont surgelés). Faits uniquement d’ingrédients frais de haute qualité – tels les grains, légumineuses, légumes, herbes, etc. –, ils se distinguent par leur source de protéines et de fibres, ainsi que par leur goût relevé. En prime, ils sont déjà marinés et précuits, ce qui simplifie l’heure du repas!

Mexican burger and guacamole recipe

INGREDIENTS

For the guacamole:

- 2 ripe avocados, pitted and peeled

- ½ red onion, finely chopped

- Juice of one lime

- 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, finely chopped

- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped

- Salt to taste

For the burger:

- 1 pack of VG Gourmet Mexican 3-bean vegan patties

- Buns

- Tomatoes

- Lettuce

 

PREPARATION

For the guacamole:

  1. In a bowl, mash the avocado flesh with a fork.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix.

For the burger:

  1. Grill the burger patties as directed on the package.
  2. Spread guacamole on the buns.
  3. Add burger patty, tomato slices and lettuce.
