Pork, vegetable and barley stew
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 6 to 7 hours
Servings: 4 to 6
Ingredients
- 1 tbs canola oil
- 1 lb pork cubes
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, minced
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 cup carrots, cut in sticks
- 1 cup turnip, cut in sticks
- 2/3 cups canned tomatos, drained
- 3/4 cup pearl barley
- 3 cups chicken broth
- oregano, thyme, fennel seed and parsley to taste
Instructions
- Heat pan on high setting. Seize pork cubes in oil. Set aside
- Add all the ingredients including pork cubes in slow cooker dish.
- Cook on low setting, 6 to 7 hours.
